Healing With Reiki

Reiki is a gentle and effective complimentary therapy. Translated from the Japanese, Rei means “universal”. Ki  translated is “life force”. Traditional Chinese Medicine refers  to this universal life force as “Chi” In Yoga, it is called “Prana”. In the West, this force has been refered to as “Manna”” or “The Holy Spirit”. Reiki transmutes universal life force energy through the healer to the client. Although the teachings and principals of Reiki are deeply rooted in Buddhism. Reiki is not a religion. Mikao Usui  developed Reiki to be used by people of all faiths. Read more in the  following link below features an article about Mikado Usui.

The Life And Times Of Mikao Usui

When the flow of life force energy within the body becomes stagnant or blocked, disease manifests. Reiki is an effective tool for clearing  energy blockages on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. The human aura is composed of seven  layers  – Each of these layers corresponds to one of the seven Chakras. Each one of the seven Chakras corresponds to a gland within the endocrine system This demonstrates the flow of Reiki from the etheric fields to the physical body.  To clear and heal  blockages in the human auric field, a Reiki session may be essential.

Reiki may be performed on a massage table using the traditional sequence of hand placements positions.  Additional  energy work on the auric field  or the Chakras may be  required.  A Reiki Practitioner may also use Reiki healing crystals to amplify or adjust energy flow during the session. I have three  quartz crystals, and two amethyst crystals I use during  Reiki sessions. Reiki symbols are important tool in Reiki. The symbols may be used for emotional balance, clearing energy blockages, or to build vitality.   Each experience during a Reiki session unique to the Client. Sensations and responses observed will vary according to the Client’s healing process. Typical reactions could include feeling hot, or feeling cold, or feeling light headed. As a session concludes, it is important to assist the Client into a sitting position slowly and carefully.   The Client must be grounded into the physical body before standing up.  A classic session usually lasts one hour. Reiki is an effective tool in promoting relaxation. To combat stress and anxiety, consider a  Reiki. session. Pictured below, find a link to Louise L Hay’s classic guide to metaphysical healing. I keep a copy of this book close at hand. Her research and suggestions are priceless.

Reiki may also be used to clear rooms, homes, buildings, and properties of negative energy. In Reiki, distance healing is an option. Distance healing  includes working with the element of time – the past, the present, and the future. This is an excellent strategy for  dealing with past childhood trauma or heartache. Planning for the future is another way to utilize long distance Reiki energy. Many traumatic issues may be addressed in this manner.    If You are interested in Reiki,  be sure to read more in the following article belowalberta center for peace and meditation 003

10 Days To Great Self Esteem

As I started writing articles for My Blog, I discovered many Bloggers write and blog about mental health issues. Bloggers are sharing and documenting personal experience with anxiety or depression. This is a positive direction. Writing is a most powerful tool  for  self expression. Keeping a private journal is yet another popular approach. Artists, musicians and writers have always shared the trauma of painful experiences. Pablo Picasso’s painting “Guernica” offered a  strong statement of protest after the bombing of the village Guernica, in Northern Spain in 1937. The late  John Lee Hooker documented  life for more than half a century with His voice, His guitar, and His songwriting. After serving as an ambulance driver in Italy, during World War I, Ernest Hemingway based the novel  “A Farewell To Arms” on His wartime experience. On the journey to wellness and balance, make and find time for creative expression. This is a powerful way to express emotions, thoughts and feelings. In dealing with depression, stress, or anxiety,  events contributing to emotional trauma. Here is a  list which includes classic stress triggers:

Peace On Earth

One of My favorite stories is “The Prince and The Pauper”. A novel written by Mark Twain published in 1881 in Canada. My first exposure to this work was the  comic book adaption, by Classic Comics.  My Uncle Chris had a collection of vintage comic books. When ever I would visit My Uncle and Aunt, I would end up in the basement,  to read the comics. Eventually I graduated to  His collection of Earle Stanley Gardner  detective novels, specifically, Perry Mason.

Without delving too deeply into the plot I offer this  brief synopsis – Two identical  looking boys, one a prince, the other, a pauper, end up mistaken for each other. Through a series of events  the prince assumes the identity of the pauper, and the pauper assumes the identity of the prince. With their roles reversed, each boy faces unexpected challenges and each boy gains a new insight  on life. The prince witnesses the struggles and injustices of the common man. The Pauper experiences the lifestyle of the prince.

“The Prince and the Pauper” contains  all the hallmarks of Mark Twain’s unique story telling style. However, for Me, the true impact of the tale was the dynamic idea that if our roles were reversed, We would have more empathy for one another. Secondly, life would be boring if We had no challenges or obstacles to overcome. Empathy is being able to imagine the circumstances and emotions of another. Imagine how others feel when faced with obstacles and challenges. We are all too quick to judge others without giving consideration.

Many sensitive people  absorb the  emotional  energy  of others around them. This may happen any where – in a shopping mall, at work, at school, or at the library.  In Reiki or any other form of  Energy Healing,  a sensitive person such a this is called an empath. An empath literally absorbs the energy around the auric field. This would include emotional energy such as fear, sadness, anger or grief. For an empath, this is devastating. To counteract this, an empath may develop ways  to deal with this. One excellent strategy  for an empath is to spend more time in a natural atmosphere. Natural environments have a healing effect. Spending time alone is essential for an empath. Take refuge in the wind, the sun, the stars and the wind.

The Quartz Path Roses

Because I am a practitioner of Reiki, I use it  to clear energy fields around My aura and immediate environment each day, every day. I am also able to assist My Clients with this. Reiki is a highly effective tool for transmuting vibrational energies. When the energy in a room feels stale , open the windows to let in fresh air and sunshine. Burning a fragrant candle or incense is another option.  Christmas Day is a day of peace and prayer. It is a day of reflection, it is a day of quiet, it is a day of universal love. The vibrational energy during this day may be felt around the planet. Peace be with You on this sacred day. Merry Christmas to You !!!
